So I'm a California girl transplanted into Texas. When I moved here 6 years ago, I missed the beaches and the mountains (along with In n Out and Trader Joes). Then I experienced spring time here. The fresh green leaves, the warm breeze, the chill in the morning air, lush tall grasses, and these beautiful wild flowers. Texas is covered in Bluebonnets and little girls nestle themselves into the flowers for annual photos.

I'm starting with these sisters! How cute are they?

oh this poor, neglected blog!

As we start a new month (someone can tell me where the last 3 months went later) I vow once again to start blogging my sessions. This sweet girl was toasty warm and happy throughout our time together. Her mom couldn't stop smiling at her - truthfully, I couldn't either. I think I must have commented on her hair at least 20 times! All my babies were baldies - although I thought they had "a lot" at the time. Nah. Once they turn two, they begin to really get some hair going (and going, which reminds me that I need to get some haircuts scheduled!)

Oh, this neglected blog. First of all, thank you to my understanding clients that were okay with a quick peek via email during the holidays (and January!) Well, I'm back on the blog and can't wait to introduce this little one to y'all!

Every once in a while, I realize that this world is pretty darn small. I met with this fabulous family and the connections kept on revealing themselves. It all started when I pulled up to their house - one that we had nearly purchased 7 years ago. Dallas isn't that small! Anyway, this little guy was a trooper for being almost 8 weeks old. His big sister was over the moon in love with him and is extremely helpful.

I hope he slept well that night!

Okay, so my in-laws need to go to bed...in my office, where I edit. So here is what I have for the beautiful W family! What a perfect addition to a wonderful family!

Our Dallas family...

So when we moved to Dallas, we left all of our family behind. Not an easy thing to do. But these wonderful Texans have stepped in and become our family! Our kids have grown up together, we camp out at the lake (well, when there was a lake), we get our fancy clothes on and hit the town, gosh, they even let us borrow their dog.

I am thrilled with the way we captured beautiful moments - the laughter and smiles are incredible! - and the light couldn't have been any better. Macy even cooperated. Well, forget the chewing through the leash. Anyway, Mr. D and Mr. C are some of my very favorite kids to photograph and once you look at their images, you'll know why.

Capturing moments in peoples' lives is a blessing.

I like to think of my clients as friends - spending even one session with them, allows me to share in their lives. So when my friends become my clients, I look forward to our sessions together. Miss S has transformed from an infant into a beautiful toddler (seems like overnight!) in front of my camera. I absolutely adore this little girl and her mommy is something of the special kind as well. What a beautiful relationship.

Little bit of sweetness!

I just hate being back logged on blogging but tis' the season! Thanks for all the extra patience.

This sweet family met me on a chilly morning (finally, we can pull out the sweaters!) Miss B and Miss L popped in and out of their jackets as we captured some fun moments. Every so often, I use candy to illicit a smile here and there (okay, okay - my pockets usually have something sweet but every so often I share with the kids!) Anyway, Miss L was competing for my "toughest nut" award and although she came really close, the Skittles worked a little magic.

Truly a wonderful time with a wonderful family! Felt so good to be cold but glad to have captured these warm moments.
