beauty comes in small packages...

Miss V was one of the most alert babies that I have ever photographed. She was 21 days old which is "big girl" for newborn shoot but what a joy to capture on camera. No sleeping for this one but beautiful blue eyes to explore her new world.

So I have a hat addiction - I'm not embarrassed to admit this - and although it's 100 degrees in Dallas these days, Miss V still modeled some of my new ones. She was a trooper for a while and then she said enough. Then we switched to flower bands and the natural look.

Big brother is having some fun on his new swing set while giving some much needed love to his sweet sister.

chugga-chugga, chugga-chugga..choo-choo...

It doesn't always happen but in this case, we were on the same "track." Mr M's parents selected some of my very favorite images from our session. This originated as a surprise Father's day gift and I'm sure this lil' guy's smile is treasured. Mr M's grandma made the wooden trains that he is running along his tracks while waiting for the real train to come over the bridge. No luck there but he had plenty of fun!

all smiles at grandma's house...

Miss M and Mr A are growing up so fast!
She is interested in princesses and puppies. He is sporting his pink cowboy boots while fixing broken bikes. Grandma's backyard is always beautiful for photos and I just can't get enough of that amazing bicycle!

Thanks for the visit - the tacos were amazing and playing with our friends is always a favorite!

summer sweethearts...

an annual event for this wonderful couple. What a fun session we had - going on a water adventure and hopping some barbed wire to capture the sunset! These two lovebirds are silly and sweet - some of my very favorite people in the world!

a straight shooter...

What you see is what you get. Such a sweetheart.
Wide eyed and alert most of the time although she caught a few snoozes in there.

Miss O is an addition that her family is treasuring!

Polly's new addition

So it dawned on me as I edited this adorable family, that I used to babysit this new daddy! Well, I really babysat his cousins and his brother - and just keep an eye on him as he was almost too old to "babysit." I'm just glad that age is just a number. Otherwise, I might feel old.
I think one of my very favorite things about newborn shoots is capturing the relationships between child and parents as well as the parents. They are giddy with excitement and love. Brian and Kelley are absolutely over the moon in love with Miss E.

Now, everyone knows that when newlyweds get a dog, that dog is considered "first born." Polly is very pleased (might be a slight exaggeration) to welcome the second born into the family! She can't wait for Miss E to learn to throw a tennis ball - then the real fun can begin.

Thanks for letting me share some time with you and please remember my offer - anytime.

a handsome addition...

So clearly I have neglected the blog. I don't know what to say except "something had to give" during the past couple months - between holiday recovery, birthday bashes, kindergarten testing and applications, and a mighty close call -phew!!! I am thrilled to be on track with blogging again although I do have many to back-blog.

Meet Mr. S - he is one of the first little guys of the year. The year of the rabbit has been proving to be filled with little girls thus far. Good news for this cutie! Nothing is sweeter than a first born baby. Mom and dad are giddy with excitement and although both are so tired, they can't stop staring and smiling at their new addition.

Mr. S has such an angelic face - hence the three similar shots (taken many minutes apart!) The yawn image is one of my favorites. You know me, I like those "gotcha" moments. Thank you so much for letting me snuggle with this lil' guy - can't wait to watch him grow!
